Pretty much guarantee you that Acrobat 2020 will be the very LAST Adobe product where they offer a one-time perpetual license. Adobe (and Microsoft, etc) really don't want people to pay once for software, when they can be charged a monthly subscription fee forever. I've even noticed lately that software which used to retail for a one-time fee Uninstalling Adobe DC also removed the phantom Distiller applications in the start menu I couldn't remove. Now, the only Adobe application on these servers is Adobe DC. I really need to investigate how the hell Adobe got around the blocks we have in place for installing crap on these servers.
When Packaging Adobe CC, I found, with Adobe, CC is incompatible with reader. When packaging Reader 64 bits, we found it is an Acrobat Pro without licence. Actually, I think much of the blame for this goes to Adobe here. Microsoft was going to include PDF support and Adobe got really worried that then no one would install their shitty software, and so made a fuss. Microsoft, ever the corporate appeaser, relented rather than going to bat to make the experience of its users better.
