When the PCM detects unexpected high air flow entering or bypassing the ETCS (from a vacuum leak, etc.), it will set the P2172 code. Misfires, rough idle, P0300, p0174, p2099. Last year 2018 in June I had these same codes come up with really rough idle. I changed spark plugs and wires and it came back a month later. I took it to a mechanic and he couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Inline 4.0 6-Cylinder. I keep getting the following codes: P0300: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected. P0302: Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected. P0303: Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected. P0304: Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected. 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee running rough with code P0122. Previously had codes p0300, P0302, and P0303. I replaced the spark plugs and those 3 codes went away. Now the P0122 came on and the engine runs a little rough when idling in gear. It runs fine when driving but when stopping at a light it rouns unevenly. P0300 is the multiple cylinder misfire. What year is your truck? There are multiple TSBs ( T echnical S ervice B ulletins) for the issue. Apparently there's one for 2021 3.6 that instructs the tech to replace the spark plugs.
